4-H Attends Wellness Fair

UConn Extension’s LaShawn Christie-Francis the Eversource Wellness Fair with Aqueelah Virgo, our CYFAR afterschool instructor.  They attended both fairs one was located on Prospect Street in Hartford and the other was at Windsor, Connecticut, both were in October. Over 200 people attended their wellness fair and it gave Urban 4-H/CYFAR afterschool programs a lot of exposure.

The Hartford County Urban 4-H after school programs are free for children age 7-19. Youth enrolled in Urban 4-H receive effective hands on STEM related activities which include but not limited to: health and nutrition, science related activities, social skills, and work force readiness courses.

On May 26th at the Boys and Girls club in Hartford the group had our annual end of the year after school program wrap up celebration. On May 28th in Hartford at Thirman Milner School our wrap up celebration was held to conclude the 2015 afterschool program.

TiDi GiveBack Visits Abundant Family Center!

Today, TiDi GiveBack partnered with Urban 4-H a division of UConn College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Department of Extension, to provide a nutritional education workshop for 16 young men and women from Abundant Family Center in Hartford, CT.

As part of the workshop our TiDi GiveBack team comprised of Ony & Nicolette taught children to read the ins-and-outs of nutrition labels, along with a demonstration of how much sugar and unhealthy ingredients are in common kids drinks.

As we continue our mission create consumer friendly products, the kids at Abundant Family Center got an opportunity to participate in an exclusive taste test of our upcoming Fuel Your Cool product.
